Sometimes I think Photographers are Bigger Flakes than Models
So, sometime last week I looked at my schedule and I was happy because I had photoshoots scheduled when I didn’t have school and it looked really nice.
I had this photoshoot scheduled for Friday where I was shooting a 7 Deadly Sins set with another model. We met up a while ago and had coffee and talked about the shoot. We planned what we were going to do and wear and makeup and payment and day and time and everything, and it sounded great. Then the other model wanted to change the time from 1pm to 10am, which I don’t really have any issues with except that I’m not really a morning person and I would have to wake up even earlier than I normally would have because I have to drive her. The reason she wanted to move up the time is because she had friends coming into town and wanted to hang out with them. I can completely understand this, but they weren’t coming into town until late that night, and I believe they were staying the weekend at her apartment because she’s living with the friends that introduced her to the people coming in from out of town, so she would have had all kinds of time to hang out with them. But, we moved the time anyway. So, around 6:30pm on Thursday night (15 hours before our shoot) I get a text message from the photographer saying that he was sick and needed to cancel the shoot, and that he was feeling sick in the morning but waited to tell me. While telling me the day before the shoot that he can’t do it isn’t ideal, I can understand that there are emergencies. I also have something on my profile saying that I require 24hours notice before cancellation of a shoot. If he had told me in the morning, then it would have been 24 hours and while it would have sucked, I wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
Then I was contacted by a photographer about doing a shoot on Saturday because he was going to be in my area. When I replied to his message saying I was interested, he never replied to me.
Then I was supposed to have a shoot in Jacksonville with the same model as the shoot on Friday. I sent him an email confirming our shoot for Sunday and he replied saying that he had to cancel and that he had told the other model about it already and assumed she would tell me. Now, he wasn’t paying me for this, but I still have a problem with this cancellation. Initially he scheduled to shoot with me on the 11th, but made me reschedule to shoot on the same day as the other model so that he only had to pay someone for gas once. (Because we don’t travel unless expenses are paid and such.) So, he made me reschedule and then cancelled without informing me. The reason he had to cancel was that he ran out of money for the studio time for our shoot. Now, I’ve seen his work, and he doesn’t just work in a studio. We could have done location work or other such things. Anyway, I find it kind of insulting and I’ve decided that I’m not shooting with him unless it’s with the other model, or he’s in Gainesville, or he’s paying me.
I had another shoot on Tuesday that was paid, and it was in town so it wouldn’t take long and I wouldn’t have to drive a long way. He cancelled a few days ago because of health complications with his father. I hold nothing against the photographer because I would have done the same thing. The only reason I list it here is to show you how frustrated I have been about scheduling and such recently.
Because of all of this, I have now added this to my MM profile: Because of problems I’ve had in the past: I require at least 24 hours notice for a shoot cancellation. If I am unable to make a shoot I afford photographers the same courtesy. This is my job and I have bills to pay and I am putting myself through school. However, I do understand that illness and other emergencies come up that are unavoidable. If you cancel the shoot on me within 24 hours of our shoot I do expect to be somehow monetarily compensated for this cancellation. Do not take this as a personal insult. I may love working with you and love the idea for this shoot, but I cannot pay my bills with IOUs.
So, today I woke up in serious pain. IT’s been a while since I”ve woken up in lots of pain. Like, normally it takes a while and I have to do something before I start to be in lots of pain, but not today. Today I woke up and could barely move. So, I sent a text to my step dad because he always helps me when I’m in lots of pain and he told me to take 2 500mg of acetaminophen and to take a hot bath and to come get meds if I was still in pain.
So, I apparently read the text message wrong and took 2500mg of acetaminophen …which isn’t good. But he gave me meds and I’m feeling a bit out of it, but I’m not in too much pain anymore.
I really can’t tell you how much I hate being in pain and broken. I would trade almost anything to not be sick anymore. It kinda fucks up everything. Not being able to get a normal job… not being able to move when I wake up sometimes… not being able to keep a normal sleep schedule because apparently people with Fibromyalgia have their sleep schedules reversed and they become nocturnal… and sooooo many other things.
I really can’t say how thankful I am for my love. I mean, I didn’t exactly warn him adequately when he moved down here, but he takes care of me when I’m sick and is one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. I know there’s no way that I can really repay him for everything he’s done for me, but I wish there was. Hopefully I’ll think of something sometime. He really means the world to me.
So, I started a new blog for pictures so I can send the link to photographers and they can look at it for pictures I like to use for inspiration and such. Tumblr apparently doesn’t like me adding lots of pictures, lol. I’m apparently at my limit for uploading pictures for today. LLLLAAAAMMMMEEEE
I Have Decided I Fucking Hate My Apartment Complex
So, our electricity bill was $300+ for this past month. This is a bit ridiculous for an 1100sq apartment. Upon trying to get the apartment complex to fix our A/C and other such things, one of the women that works in the office decided that she needed to inspect our apartment. One of her reasons that our bill is so high is “and abundance of electronics plugged in throughout the apartment” and proceeded to list everything off.
This is what they think is an abundance: Kitchen: Toaster, Radio Dining room: Computer monitor Living room: TV, XBOX, gaming system, lamp Master Bedroom: Fan, Desktop Computer, Laptop Other Bedroom: Lamp Full Bathroom: Hair Straightener
The pastor who wanted to burn the Qur'an is being fined $200,000 by the city for heightened security we had to have and he said it will probably bankrupt his church. He added that he'll probably move his church to Tampa because Gainesville isn't supportive enough. AWESOME!
Finally Got Pictures From My Shoot With Under The Gun in Hollywood, Fl
I did this shoot back mid-July in Hollywood, Fl. After the photographer only “giving” me two pictures from the entire shoot, he finally sent more. (And, by “giving” I mean to say he posted them on his FetLife account and then sent me a friend request and I had to find them myself.) He proceeded to kind of hold them hostage from me because he “wanted to see me again”. Keep this in mind, he normally lives in Ohio, not Florida. Even if he did live in Florida, where he stays in Florida is almost 6 hours away from me.
There were also a few other issues with the shoot…like, I agreed to do it for trade AND dye my hair at the shoot as a part of it as long as he compensated me for everything. I believe that gas ended up being $120, tolls ended up being $32, and the hair dye was around $60. I’m pretty sure he ended up reimbursing me for…$130. So, basically, I ended up paying for the shoot. (Which, in case anyone was wondering, I don’t do. I have enough people pay me for it that I don’t need to pay someone else…unless they’re fucking amazing.)
Anyway, these are all the pictures he deemed good enough to edit and such. For being at a shoot from Midnight-5pm I feel he should’ve gotten more shots. Any other photographer I’ve ever worked with, even my friends just messing around with their brand new digital camera, would have gotten more than he did. I guess he isn’t as good as he thinks he is. Anyway, he is a photojournalist as opposed to a model photographer…
Currently studying for my anatomy exam tomorrow while watching CNN.
So, today the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell lift didn’t go through today, and it just got me started on how ignorant people can be. Just recently, Dove Outreach center in my college town (Gainesville, FL) promoted an event of the Koran…
They totally have the “Love Not Dove” shirts. Imma get my hands on those sometime…

I’m pretty sure I’m being a terrible girlfriend right now. Not handling stress very well and trying not to talk about it with your boyfriend…I’m pretty sure that means I’m being a terrible girlfriend right now.
I feel really bad about it.
And I need to redye my hair. There’s blonde showing through the blue/purple. But, I don’t have the money for it.
I just want to go to sleep and wake up…a long time from now.
Photoshoot on Monday night with Krystal Radlinski (Verve Studio) and Aaron Bailey
Monday night I had a photo shoot with Krystal Radlinski, part of Verve Studios, (http://www.modelmayhem.com/837442) and Aaron Bailey (http://www.modelmayhem.com/874647). We were supposed to start at 7, but apparently her neighborhood was built after Google Maps was finished, so I basically sat at the entrance being incredibly confused until I figured it out. And I would have called her, but I didn’t have her cell phone number…and I still have no idea why.
Anyway, I had a lot of fun with her and Aaron. The whole point of the shoot was that they had gotten some new lights and since she is primarily a wedding photographer and he doesn’t mostly architecture out in Haile Plantation, they didn’t get a lot of opportunity to have fun with crazy lights and work with models.
Now, I’ve worked with Krystal before. I worked with her and her husband, Matt, (the other part of Verve Studios) on a Casablanca Wedding project they did at the Hippodrome Theater in Downtown Gainesville.
This is probably one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever been a part of and the pictures that came out amazing. Since then I was dying to get a chance to work with them again, and about 2 weeks ago she sent me a facebook message and an email and I got the chance!
This time though we didn’t have a huge production team or lots of people, it was just the three of us, which was really nice.
We did some nude work and played around with the new lights they had and a smoke machine she had in her garage and my fake blood. (Because everyone loves fake blood. :P)
So, while I got there about 30 minutes late, we were originally only shooting until 9…well, we were all talking and playing with new lights can be complicated and we were just having a good time…I think I ended up getting home around midnight, lol.
I really can’t wait to see the pictures we got. I know they’re going to be awesome.
